WHAT IS THE FAMILY TRUST PROGAM?

The Family Trust Program is a professionally managed pooled-investment trust that qualifies exempt (non-countable) asset for persons who need Medicaid, SSI or other needs-based public benefits.

The Trustee is Family Trust of Massachusetts, Inc., a Massachusetts non- profit organization managed by a Board of Directors, an Executive Director and an Administrator. The Trustee holds accounts for many separate individuals, each of whom is entitled only the the funds in his or her separate account. Trust accounts are pooled for purposes of investment and management.

Qualified independent investment counsel is retained to determine the optimal investment strategy for funds in the Program. The Trustee invests the funds of each account in light of the individual's anticipated current and near-future supplemental needs, and with regard for prudent investing standards that apply to both short-term and long-term securities portfolios.
